"Mountain Biking is My Thing"

Kent Dudek has turned 'his thing' into an activity that benefits children in the AzCA Star Respite program every week.  Kent and AzCA staffer Aurora Lee worked together to bring the national "Trips for Kids" mountain biking program to northern Arizona.  "I saw the impact that mountain biking can have on a kid and I knew that we had the resources in our community to make it successful," said Kent.

Kent and Shawn Miller, another Trips for Kids volunteer, take out an average of  three kids ages 10 – 17 each week for a mountain bike ride.  "I know how much mountain biking has changed my perspective," adds Kent.  "You learn about yourself and what your limits are.  Seeing the kids overcome their fear and gain in skill and confidence is exciting and rewarding."
