“Giving back my time is something that I can donate that
makes a difference” - Group Project volunteer
“They make great use of our time and the projects they need help with are well thought out and valuable.” - Group Project volunteer
Volunteer Group Projects are a great way to help the community and emphasize teamwork. Volunteer teams are needed to complete one-time group projects at Arizona's Children Association and family of agency facilities. Examples of volunteer group projects can be found below or we can work with your group to find the project that best suits you.
Program Support
To further the success of our more than 40 program and services, Arizona’s Children Association is seeking group volunteers to help with Program Support in various areas. Projects might include assembling packets, organizing and cleaning playrooms, completing informational binders.
Life Book Program
A Life Book is a collection of material and personal information for a child residing in long-term foster care. This book helps answer questions about their past. Volunteers provide handmade scrapbook pages for parents of our foster and adoptive children to use in a personal album of memories and factual information. Be apart of uncovering a child’s history by holding a Scrapbooking Party. No previous scrapbooking experience necessary. This program is entirely volunteer driven, and it provides a rewarding experience.
Facilities Support
A basic part of keeping children and families safe is providing them with a safe environment for both learning and playing. Arizona’s Children Association is constantly striving to make our facilities the best they can be. If your group loves to help landscape and paint, works in maintenance or are just weekend handymen, we need your talents! This placement provides a unique opportunity to immediately see the difference your contribution is making in the lives of children and families. Projects might include landscaping, painting, and beautification projects.
Just for Me Bags
Every day more than a dozen children across Arizona come into foster care. Most leave behind all of their possessions when they are suddenly and unexpectedly removed from their homes. They wake up in a strange bed, in a home with people they did not know and in a situation not of their own making. "Just for Me" bags are provided to Arizona's Children licensing workers to give to their families when a new child comes into care. "Just for Me" bags include essential items for infants and children. We need your help to continue to provide "Just for Me" bags for all of the children who come into the care of Arizona's Children families. Groups can hold drives for “Just for Me” bag items and/or “stuff” bags with supplies.
Volunteer Drives
Volunteers are needed to set up various drives at your workplace, organization, or school to benefit children. Drives include “Just for Me” Bags Items, Hygiene Products, School Supply, Toys and Books, Safety Items, Gifts of Hope Annual Holiday Drive. Click here to learn more about Group Drive Opportunties.
"Change for Children" Campaign
If you have a business or organization and would like to help raise funds for the work of Arizona's Children and our family of agencies, consider holding your own "Change for Children" campaign. Businesses devote at least one month to raising money for AzCA by placing collection canisters in high traffic areas such as check out counters, lunchrooms, etc. Reay's Ranch Investors held a campaign for Arizona's Children Association which included placards for those who donated $1 or more to write their name on and it was displayed at their business. You will receive direct support from the AzCA development team. We will provide printed materials, canisters, posters and a guide to setting up the drive. For more information about conducting a "Change for Children" campaign in your business or organization, contact Becky Holton at 800-947-7611, x 2302 or e-mail bholton@arizonaschildren.org.
Get Creative!
If your group has a special talent or area of expertise you feel would be an asset to the children and families of Arizona’s Children Association, we will gladly discuss how your group can help out! We firmly believe volunteering should be fun for everyone involved, and this is your chance to do something your group loves while helping others.
