The Kinship and Adoption Resource and Education (KARE)
Family Center located in Tucson, Arizona is an all-inclusive
center for grandparents, relatives and adoptive parents
caring for children under the age of 18. It is the only
program of its kind in the state.
The mission of the KARE Family Center is “To enhance
the quality of life in our community by promoting the
stability within families caring for children born to
others.”
The KARE Family Center offers an assortment of services,
programs and support to aid in successfully raising others
families children. The KARE Family Center offers:
- Information, Education and Resource Referrals
- Case Management Services
- Guardianship & Temporary Aid to Needy Families
(TANF) Clinics
- Mental/Behavioral Health Services
- Legal Resource Information
- Recreation and Respite
- Support Groups
- Advocacy
- Assistance and Training for Guardians and Adoptive
Parents
These services
are free, regardless of income, to all families in Pima
County who have adopted, have guardianship, or are relatives
raising a relative’s children.
KARE is a program
of Arizona's Children Association and Casey Family
Programs, Tucson Division, in collaboration with the
Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental
Disabilities, District II, the Pima Council on Aging,
and the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension.
