All
of the Arizona’s Children Association outpatient
programs across the state are based on the
Arizona
Model; a philosophy designed to provide support
to children and their families. Twelve basic principles
serve as the foundation for this model.
- Collaborating with the child and family
– all plans of care are driven by the child and family
- Focusing on creating Functional Outcomes
– plans that are created are reasonable and workable for the child and
family with short-term goals and long-term solutions
- Collaboration with other care providers
– clinicians in Arizona’s Children Association Outpatient Programs
are collaborating with other medical and professional staff that the child and
family are working with
- Offering accessible services
– Arizona’s Children Association ensures children and families have
access to all treatment and program options available to them, including providing
services in their homes
- Following professionally recommended
Best Practices
– providing a wide variety of services that meet or exceed established
standards of care
- Providing treatment in the most appropriate
setting
– whether determined by comfort level or accessibility, outpatient services
are provided where the child or family requests they be provided
- Timeliness
– Arizona’s Children Association meets or exceed community standards
for initial interaction and ongoing care
- Services tailored to the child and family
– programs and services are not ‘one-size-fits-all,’ every
child and family works in a plan that is geared toward best serving their spiritual
and cultural needs
- Stability
– children and families are not ‘bounced around’ from person
to person. Clinicians make commitments to their families to be a support mechanism
for the full tenure of their treatment and often times a resource when they’ve
completed their program.
- Respect for the child and family’s
unique cultural heritage
– Arizona’s Children Association prides itself on our commitment
to diversity and cultural integrity. We employ a diverse staff as well as offer
treatment and printed literature in multiple languages.
- Independence
– we want to empower, not enable our families
- Connection to natural supports
- Outpatient Programs at Arizona’s Children Association encourage and
support the involvement of the child and family’s natural support systems
(immediate or extended biological family, school, doctor, etc.)
Using these 12 principles as a guide, Arizona’s
Children Association creates complete and comprehensive
outpatient plans of care that are individualized
for the child and family and that fully encompass
each aspect of their lives.
