The Parent Connection is
a division of Arizona's Children Association committed
to the optimal development of each and every child 5
years old and younger. The programs are developed and
run based on a partnership with parents and are based
on support, education, and building family strengths.
The Parent Connection is
located at 5326 E. Pima in Tucson, Arizona. Programs
are also offered in Graham and Greenlee counties. The
Parent Connection provides a safe and nurturing
environment for families to come together to explore,
learn and acquire parenting skills.
Center-based classes and activities,
as well as outreach programs throughout the community,
allow parents to gain knowledge about child development
and age-appropriate behaviors, engage in positive ways
to stimulate early brain development, and learn effective
methods of discipline and communication with their children.
We believe that a strong social, emotional, and intellectual
foundation established during these early years is essential
to all later development.
The Parent Connection offers
a number of family-oriented activities in the following
areas:
- Play-based Parent Education
parents learn through play with their child and meet and share with other
parents with similar experiences.
- Parenting Classes
qualified educators help parents learn how to develop effective parenting
tools for discipline and cooperation, and how to build self-esteem, and
communication.
- New Parent Support Groups
serve to enrich the parent-child bond by helping parents understand how to
relax in their new role and learn through the support of other new parents.
- Play-based Groups for Dads
allows Dads to build networks with other Dads as well as spend enriching
playtime with their child.
- Parents
as Teachers Program
participants take part in home visits from certified parent educators and
gain a greater understanding of your child's development.
Infant massage
promotes bonding while reducing tension and aiding
physical development.
CPR teaches the basics in keeping
