The
Arizona’s Children Association Psychiatric Residential
Treatment Center (RTC) is located on the seven-acre campus
in Tucson, Arizona that is also home to the Association’s
administrative headquarters.
The RTC provides 24-hour psychiatric care to some of the
most emotionally disturbed 5-15 year old children in the
state. The Center provides services to children from all
across the state of Arizona and has been doing so since
the 1950s.
Each child has a treatment team who, in conjunction with
the child, the family and the referral source, develops
and implements an individualized plan. This plan may include:
- Individual, group and family therapy
- Recreational activities and/or an adventure-based ROPES
course
- Nursing services and health education
- Nutritional and psychopharmacological services
- On-campus education at the Nellie
P. Covert School, an accredited
school for both special and non-special education
students
Additionally, children may participate in:
- Art Therapy
- Drama/Expressive Arts Therapy
- Coping Skills Groups
- Substance Abuse Groups
- Sexual Issues Groups
