Though our services can, for
the most part, be categorized into one of the three areas – Intervention,
Prevention, Permanency – there are some programs
offered by Arizona’s Children Association that
fall outside this realm. Two such programs are the Life
Book Program and the Infant Adoption
Awareness Training Program (IAATP).
The Life Book Program is
100% a volunteer driven, donation-funded program. It
was developed to provide a tangible connection for children
in the foster care system to the positive and negative
parts of their personal history. In addition, the books
serve to lay the foundation for the child’s belief
that they can have a safe and productive future.
We have found that receiving a Life Book helps many
of our children gain an awareness of who they are … and
who they want to be. To learn more, click

The Infant Adoption Awareness
Training Program (IAATP) was developed as
part of the Infant Adoption Awareness / Children’s
Health Act passed by Congress in 2000. This law requires
the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)
to develop and implement programs that train staff
at federally funded health centers and clinics to provide ‘adoption
as an option’ information to women in crisis
pregnancies.
Arizona’s Children Association
was one of four agencies in the country to be awarded
a grant to develop a curriculum to meet these legislative
goals. To learn more about the Infant Adoption Awareness
Training Program, click
