The Arizona's Children
Association Nellie P. Covert School located in Tucson, Arizona,
is an educational facility tat specializes in dealing with
students with unique needs. The school is focused
on positive academics learning, behavioral, and social skill
growth.
The mission of
the Covert School is “to provide a safe and consistent
environment through an integrated approach that fosters
healthy growth in children.”
Educational Philosophy
The education program at Arizona’s Children Association developed from
the belief that active participation in a positive learning environment enables
a child to begin recovering from the emotional disturbance that disrupted the
normal developmental process.
The Covert School program is designed to provide
these positive life and successful learning experiences
through diagnostic teaching and positive reinforcement.
As the bank of successful academic, social, and personal
experiences grows, a positive self-image develops.
This enables the child to trust adults, peers, and
self while becoming better equipped to learn from
and process the environment around them.
