23rd Annual John Boemer Golf Tournament Recap

Yuma – After a 2-year wait due to the pandemic, the 23rd Annual John Boemer Golf Tournament took place at the Yuma Golf and Country Club Golf on May 7th. AzCA would like to extend a special thank you to our presenting sponsor, Chapman Automotive Group, and the amazing work of Chapman Cares.

“This tournament is near and dear to our hearts. We have sponsored this event for many years knowing the proceeds go to the children of our community. We believe these children are our future. John Boemer was not only considered part of our dealership’s family, he was a fixture in the community and an appreciated business partner. This year we are proud to bring Chapman Automotive with us as they are an Arizona family and now a part of the Yuma community” – Chapman Auto

Thank you to the rest of our sponsors for their amazing support: Shay Oil, Chretin’s Restaurant & Cantina, Romer Beverage, Burgers & Beer, JV Smith Companies, Corona Optique, Judy Boemer, Jimmie Dee’s, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Kabat’s Ace Hardware, Da Boyz Italian Cuisine, AEA Federal Credit Union, Nova Home Loans and 1st Bank Yuma.

With 36 foursomes and 136 golfers participating we had a full course that really involved the entire community. Golfers attended a brief awards ceremony where raffle winners were announced and separate awards were given out to those competing.

Breakfast Burritos were donated by Bad-Ass Breakfast Burritos, and, after 18 holes of golf, a picnic lunch was served by Yuma Golf & Country Club. Milos Tea provided beverages with some perfect ice tea for a hot day.

The 23rd Annual John Boemer Golf Tournament helped raise more than $40,000 for Yuma’s most vulnerable families and children. All proceeds will remain in Yuma to provide life-changing services through Arizona’s Children Association.
