Have you been stocking up on food, toilet paper and other necessities? What about those who don’t have that luxury?
We realize that this is a difficult time for so many of us, but children in foster care and the families that care for them are particularly hit hard by recent events. Our youth and families work hard to make ends meet and often face limited financial resources. Youth ‘aging out’ of foster care and trying to gain independence, often work hourly jobs and live on a very tight budget. Many businesses are starting to shut their doors and cut hours, creating a drop in income. In times of crisis and uncertainty, like COVID-19 (Coronavirus), one unforeseen incident can leave our families jobless, facing eviction, without childcare, and even hungry.
Our staff are working with our families to provide support and help them find the necessary resources to remain stable during this time. Help us provide emergency funding to aid our foster youth and families facing difficult circumstances. These funds will allow us to make sure they are current on their utility bills and rent, as well as make sure they have gas money to get to work and food in their pantries.
Be their safety net. Donate today to our emergency fund and help us provide immediate support!
Our needs list is long – All of our programs could utilize resources to provide support to children and families in obtaining necessary personal supplies. As stores are seeing a shortage of diapers, wipes and formula, our families are turning to us for help. Some of these families do not have the means to order online and our supply of these items is not enough to meet the demand. We need your help in making these items available and accessible around the state. Aside from making a monetary donation…
