Our Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children (ICPC) and Courtesy Supervision contracts help to ensure the protection and services to children who are placed in foster care across state and county lines. The goal of this program is to support the long term or permanent placement of the children in care, typically with family or other connected families, who reside outside the geographic area of the DCS department that has jurisdiction over the children.
Our services include:
- Home studies of potential placements
- Foster care licensing recommendations
- Adoption services
- Courtesy supervision of the placement
- Guardianship reports to the court
Services provided through the program are driven by the referral from the area where the child is located. We also assess the needs of the family and connect them with available resources and community supports. This includes advocacy, contacting the sending states/districts and identifying and addressing barriers.
