RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate, is Keller Williams’ annual day of service. Each year, they celebrate this day as part of their ‘legacy worth leaving’ and embodies the generous spirit and commitment their associates have to giving back to the cities and towns they live and work in.
Recently, Keller Williams of Northern Arizona celebrated their RED Day by making a difference for Nina, one of our kinship grandparents.
In order to receive financial assistance to care for her grandchildren, Nina needed her home to comply with licensing standards, which required her to add another bedroom on to her home.
Keller Williams of Northern Arizona stepped forward with volunteers and additional resources from the community. By recruiting other businesses, Keller Williams was able to secure donated goods to support the mission.
Those who joined their efforts included Lowes, Ace Hardware, Prime Lending, Lawyer’s Title, HomeGuard Home Warranty, EverGreen Home Loans, Mile High Property Inspections, Old Republic Home Protection, Prescott Maid to Order, Keller Williams Northern Arizona Agents, Pioneer Title Agency, and Old Republic Home Warranty.
The project involved landscaping to remove weeds and a couple of trees, painting the exterior of the house, assembling bunkbeds, and leveling the ground to build a shed to clear out the garage. As a result of this collaboration, Nina is now able to turn her empty garage into an extra bedroom to provide a secure home for her grandchildren, while meeting the licensing standards.
“I’m so grateful,” said Nina. “I’ve been doing this on my own for so long. I’m a single grandmother taking care of four grand kids. These are things I’ve been wanting to do and haven’t been able to get them done.”
Arizona’s Children Association is proud work alongside other organizations and businesses to benefit the communities we serve.
We are more than grateful for Keller Williams and the Prescott Valley community for their help to protect our families. The time, money, and resources that were contributed to this project allowed this family to remain together and receive the support needed to be successful.
Initiatives like RED Day are one of the many ways that people can get involved in supporting the welfare of others. Not only are donating and volunteering your time ways to express your support for your community, but they are also instrumental in helping Arizona’s Children Association serve our mission of protecting children, empowering youth, and strengthening families.
