In 2016, Lupe heard that his sister had sponsored two kids to provide holiday gifts for through Arizona’s Children Association (AzCA). He credits his sister and his friend, Imelda, who is a Director at AzCA, for getting him involved. That was only the beginning. After the first year of participating in our Gifts of Hope holiday campaign, he spread the word to his friends, and each year the amount of kids they sponsor continues to grow!
I have always been someone who enjoys giving, even when I did not have very much. I also do not mind reaching out to my friends and family. Imagine if we could all help someone or each other, whenever we could? Man, wouldn’t that be amazing! I owe it to my sister and Imelda for leading me on this path and I love them for it!
He says he continues to support AzCA and the Gifts of Hope holiday campaign because “It is a little something I can do for those who are in need. I can do something to help at least a handful of children in this world. The fact that I know these kids will have something to look forward to, just makes my heart warm. The feeling of being able to make a difference is like no other and I hope to continue and, hopefully, grow my participation for many more years to come.”
The annual Gifts of Hope holiday campaign at AzCA was created to provide children in foster care and families in need with holiday gifts that they might not otherwise receive. As the holidays approach, you can get involved with our Gifts of Hope campaign in two ways:
- Shop our Amazon wish-list. We are constantly updating this list with items our children, youth and families are in need of and want. Click here to view the wish-list.
- Make a donation directly to our Gifts of Hope campaign. We will use this money strictly for buying gifts for our children during the holidays. Click here to donate.
We are so grateful for continuous support from people like Lupe, his sister, and friends. They help make the holidays better for children in care and families in need. Will you provide the gift of hope this holiday season?
